    Symphony of Colors

A marvellous city that fascinates visitors with its mild climate and countless shades of green

As an alternative tourism centre by virtue of its pristine nature, well-preserved historical heritage and peerless beauty, Artvin merits the slogan “The unrivalled city in alternative tourism.”

Artvin’s cultural and historical character reflects its historical Georgian region of Tao-Klarjeti of Middle Ages. Artvin’s scenic routes will lead you to churches and settlements dating back from that period. The best preserved of these settlements are in Barhal and İşhan located on stupendous Kaçkar Mountains (Kaçkar Dağları).

A winding path on a mountain slope leads you to Artvin, an authentic province of the Black Sea Region. Culturally rich and diverse, the Artvin province has many historical monuments including monasteries, churches, castles, mosques, bridges and mansions. With awe-inspiring climate and flora, valleys, canyons, and lakes, the region offers countless alternatives for nature aficionados.

Camili, also known as Maçahel, was designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 2005 and it is the one and only biosphere reserve in Türkiye.
